Serious Black is an international power metal band founded in January 2014. Their members are wrong or have previously been successful in other bands.
According to their own information, Roland Grapow and Mario Lochert talked on August 23, 2013 Backstage at 'Ripollet Rock Festival 2013' about music. Lochert came up with the idea of founding a six-piece band and was able to convince Grapow, who appeared there with Masterplan, of his idea. Back in Munich, Lochert convinced his friend Thomen Stauch by phone, after which Jan Vacik and Dominik Sebastian joined the band. Finally, the formation met in January 2014 in the Dream Sound Studios in Munich to work on their own material. After the first material had already been written, a suitable singer was found with the Swedish resident Urban Breed.
One day before the start of the tour in Bremen, the band announced that Roland Grapow and Thomen Stauch can not participate in this. Roland Grapow (for Tinnitus) will be represented live by Bob Katsionis (Firewind), Thomen Stauch (due to shoulder problems) by Ramy Ali (Freedom Call). The first concert of the group was on 16 January 2015 in Bremer Aladin.
On January 20, 2015, the debut album As Daylight Breaks appeared on AFM Records. The pieces Sealing My Fate and I Seek No Other Life were previously published on the video platform Youtube. The album climbed to # 61 on the German album charts.
On 9th September 2016 the new album 'Mirrorworld '', also from AFM Records, was released.
