Heretics are a thrash metal band with black and death metal, as well as post-rock influences from Cologne.
story
The band was founded in 2003. After that, three demos were released. In 2009, heretics released their debut album Satan's Boundaries Unchained.
The band played at the Rock Hard Festival 2010 and the Party.San Open Air 2010.
music style
The band's early work is occasionally compared with Deströyer 666, whose drummer Mersus has produced the debut album 'Satan's Boundaries Unchained'. As influences the band members call themselves Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple and Judas Priest.
reception
Rock Hard Magazine refers to the band in its May 2010 issue as the title of a full-page article titled 'Germany's Most Talented Offspring'. Also the second album 'Endzeit Metropolis' has found resonance in the specialist magazines, e.g. a double page in Rock Hard 299. Manuel Latton (aka inhonorus) from Legacy Magazine describes Starless as more musical and more adventurous compared to the band's earlier albums, but heretics are slower and have much less aggression. Long-time fans could be scared. The band itself, sees a natural progression with each new album as an important part of their DNA.
